THE WORLD WIDE WEB AND OUR LIVES

It is not far-fetched to allude that the original intention of an invention in terms of its use and target audience might easily metamorphose into more than its original plan, inexorably outliving its content and outreach scope and I stand to be corrected if the Internet and the World Wide Web should not, after all be perceived as such.
Many things have changed about life generally in the recent past but the internet and the World Wide Web by far, are some of the greatest communication revolutions of our time.
Whereas the World Wide Web and internet came as indispensable gifts to humanity – all benefits notwithstanding, they have influenced us in many different ways. We have sort of come to the crossroads of choosing between the lesser of two evils (Compromised Privacy and the incredible resource of the internet and WWW).
Our Social lives are not delineated from the impact of the World Wide Web. This is not however, to negate the contribution of this resource but to stir our minds up into critical thinking perspectives of our future in the ever-changing ICT terrain. The modern kids (Internet generation) if you choose to call them so, will not experience the same challenges as their predecessors. Social relationships and behavioral change have not been left unscathed in the wake of this technology advancement.
If I may paraphrase Noam Chomsky "American linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, historian, social critic, and political activist" comments on social media users during his conversation "Edward Snowden, Glenn Greenwald & Noam Chomsky - A Conversation on Privacy” could be that "the digital personality (self) has consumed real our social lves"
The ICT generational shift is undeniably indelible. It's not surprising to stumble upon articles like "BBC - Future - Are you 'over-connected? ” …and many as such. Moreover, many scholarly articles have been published about "Privacy and the internet" and have argued different opinions. One thing however remains clear, the future of ICT landscape with all the current challenges we face, is some sort of complex puzzle we are yet to solve.
